I recently had the pleasure of designing the cover for this powerful book by my yoga teacher and friend Greg Archer. My goal was to visually translate the emotional depth of the story by weaving subtle narrative details into a photo montage contained within the silhouette of the heroine—creating a layered image that hints at memory, history, and identity. I’m incredibly proud of this cover and honored to have contributed to such a meaningful project.
The book traces Archer’s deeply personal journey into his Polish heritage, uncovering a largely unacknowledged chapter of 20th-century history: the mass deportation of nearly 1.5 million Polish citizens to Siberian gulags under Stalin’s regime. As he follows the fragmented path of his ancestors through exile, survival, and resilience, the story unfolds as part memoir, part historical reckoning, and part spiritual exploration. It’s a moving meditation on generational trauma, truth-telling, and the possibility of healing—one I wholeheartedly encourage you to read.
