Hello and welcome to my portfolio. I’m Claire Louise Frieling, a Graphic Designer and Art Director with over two decades of professional experience creating concept-driven design across packaging, retail environments, environmental graphics, and print.
I graduated from the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom (UK) in 2001 and began my career in England before relocating to the Chicago area in 2006. Originally from the UK, I now live in Oak Park, Illinois.
Throughout my career, I’ve partnered with a wide range of established brands and organizations across multiple design disciplines. My expertise is rooted in packaging design, in-store and on-premise graphics, and print for retail, where I focus on translating brand strategy into visually compelling, production-ready work that connects brands with people in physical space.
Alongside large-scale retail and brand initiatives, I also collaborate with small businesses and startups, providing thoughtful design for brand identities, packaging, print materials, websites, and marketing collateral. I’m especially drawn to projects that combine strong storytelling with craft and clarity, including narrative-driven work such as book cover design.
Design is both my profession and my passion. In 2005, I launched Rudy Ludy, an independent apparel brand focused on graphic-driven clothing for concerts, parties, and live events. Outside of client work, I enjoy interior styling, hands-on creative projects, and exploring how design shapes everyday environments.
